The question I receive from parents is why?
Why does my child develop autism?
As a Behavioral Optometrist, Craniosacral Therapist, Authorized Continuum Teacher, Aromatherapist, Author, Teacher, and Workshop Facilitator, we spend the hour discussing Autism as a spectrum of disorders.
I offer seven strategies to help parents navigate this area:
- Think out of the box, and choose to live out or not live out the diagnosis. Don’t aim for normal or the “fix it” model instead, explore holistically and developmentally. Learn about the epigenetics model.
- Focus on improving cellular health both on a systemic and energetic level. Improve absorption, detoxification, and the immune system. Understand oxidative stress, toxic load, improving sleep, balancing hormones and cultivating better self-regulation.
- Learn how to improve our Enteric (Gut-Brain Connection)
- Heal any structural and birth impediments, and improve the primitive reflex integration
- Enhance overall sensory-motor function
- Develop better communication, speech, language, and auditory, and verbal skills.
- Look to the future, develop strategies for better transition, and encourage independence into adulthood.
