In vision care today, we are led to believe many myths about our eyes. Here are a few them:
- The eye is a separate, mechanical, biological process, it only ages and deteriorates
- Our genes control our eye health
- If you don’t wear your glasses, your eyes will get worse
- There is no correlation between eyes and our body
- It is the defective eyeball causing vision loss
Here are some truths about our eyes:
- A vision problem in the eye reflects an energetic and systemic imbalance in the body
- In Chinese medicine, the liver rules the eyes
- There is a correlation between our emotions and vision
- Sunlight is a very important food for the eyes and for our systemic and spiritual health
- One can improve vision at ANY age
Our vision is an evolutionary process of development that begins in-utero. Our retina has developed from brain tissue, so whenever we work with the eyes we are working with an extension of the brain. Neuroscientists have proven, that we can improve the function of the brain at any age (neuroplasticity is the flexibility to develop new neural connections throughout life), and our eyes and brain are intimately related. Our vision is not static but it is a dynamic system and should be treated as such. The more versatility we have in our vision, more versatility we have in our life.
It is important to question the current allopathic model. It creates a paradigm that we are victims and have no possibility for healing and wellness. Because of the current state of dysfunction in this system, many of us are witnessing a break down in the current approach to health. Join me in the new paradigm that says we have the innate ability for healing, whether it is for eyes or for our entire wellness.
